What is a Full-Stack Developer?

As the demand for user-friendly techonology continues to rise, it become increasingly confusing. The business owner, who just needs a digital presence, may ask, are they not all the same?  What is the difference? Who exactly should I hire to get my web presence done?   It is a loaded question. 

Web Developers are persons who build a websitewho focus only on one part of thr project. They are either front-end developers (visuals, buttons, layouts) or back-end developers (servers, logic, databases).

Where as Full-Stack Developers can do all of the technical implementation, front-end and back-end.  They do it all. 

Here’s a breakdown of a full-stack developer’s skillset:

• Front-End Technologies
• Back-End Technologies
• Databases
• DevOps Concepts
• Cloud Deployments

They are powerful technical geeks, highly sought after,  who can get the job done.   

But notice what they don’t typcially do….they do not do the artwork or graphic design.  Full-stack developers work with these talented individuals, but it is a rare individual who can provide both sides.  That is why we call it “Full-Stack+” .

There lies the challenge for the business owner.  The graphics and useability is what you customer sees.  No matter how wonderful the technology is implemented, no matter how fast it responds,  if the look and feel of the site is not represenative of your business, the effort and cost whas a waste.

So who do you look for?  A team or an extremely rare individual, that does both.
